    TITLE
    : Implementing an Enterprise PMO: Learnings From A New Company Startup

    Two companies, two cultures. A new company startup as the result of a merger brings many challenges; organizational structure and culture integration, Human Resource policy & procedures, and no less important IT systems and processes.  This presentation discusses the process and challenges in building an Enterprise PMO in a new company.   We will explore the early stage design approach, a PM framework designed to encompass both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, supporting technologies for processes, and a governance model designed as the holistic enterprise consolidation component.

    BIO
    Tommie Anderson has over 30 years in the IT industry, beginning his career as a systems designer and programmer then moving in to project and program management where he has focused his efforts over the last 20 years. His work encompasses the industries of Consumer Products – Supply Chain, Financial, Legal, Outsourcing, and currently Business-2-Business Supply Chain focusing on Print, Packing, Publishing, Facility, and Logistics Solutions. Tommie has led major SAP implementation projects and implemented PMOs and associated best practices within organizations of two Fortune 500 companies.  

    Tommie received is BBA in Marketing from the University of Kentucky and his MBA from the University of Tennessee. His certifications include PMP and ITIL V3 Foundations, and he currently serves on Northern Kentucky’s College of Informatics advisory board. Tommie has served as an Adjunct Professor at NKU since 2001 and currently teaches a masters level project management class. He has been a member of PMI’s Southwest Ohio chapter for more than 10 years.
