    As a project manager you might very well have a team of age diverse members that span all these demographics. What are the challenges presented to the PM, are there differences in values, motivations, or work ethic? This presentation looks at these items and their impact on project teams.

    There will be references to a talk by Simon Senik on millennials in the workplace. You may want to watch a combination of Simon’s talk and a millennial response at The Simon Senik video was a source of discussion at our last meeting. I’d like to offer a counterpoint as presented by a millennial. (warning it is 40 minutes of time, but it also includes most of Simon’s 15 minute video)

    The presenters are a couple of Baby Boomers that have research and input from a number of Millennials too. HR consultants of Millennial age have head our talk and shared with us that we are right on track. This is very interesting topic and engaging for all ages in the workforce. It is not a presentation on “Managing Millennials”, it’s a discussion on getting high performance from intergenerational teams.

    Dave Davis, PMP, PgMP, & PBA is a practitioner of project and program management and a recognized professional in the field of helping businesses implement change. Dave has over 30 years’ experience in private enterprise as a manager, project manager, program manager, business analyst, and knowledge manager. Dave holds 3 master’s degrees including an MBA from Xavier as well as one in eBusiness Project Management from the University of British Columbia. Dave has first-hand experience working with multigenerational teams and has been actively engaged in researching the topic for professional publications.

    As far as a real job, Dave is currently a Senior Program Manager for Ohio Healthcare implementing an ePMO and managing projects. He has also worked at GE as a Program Manager implementing Brilliant Factory, at Nationwide Insurance as an Executive Advisor on Benefit Management Practices, and 25+ years at AT&T in a multitude of PM roles.
