Speakers Needed for a PMISWO Chapter Construction Project Management Webinar Series

Our Chapter is currently seeking volunteer speakers for a monthly webinar series focused on project management topics relevant to the construction industry.

We are looking for engaging presenters who can share practical insights, lessons learned, and current trends that connect construction industry experience with PMI principles and the evolving practices reflected in the PMBOK® Guide. Each session will be a 1-hour webinar delivered to our chapter community on a monthly basis.

Topics of interest include project management approaches, tools, leadership practices, and emerging trends affecting construction projects today. We welcome proposals from experienced practitioners, consultants, educators, and industry leaders who can offer actionable knowledge and real-world examples.

Examples of topics we are especially interested in include:

  • applying PMBOK principles in construction project delivery, with practical examples from planning through closeout;
  • managing complexity, risk, and stakeholder expectations on construction projects in increasingly dynamic environments;
  • sustainability in construction projects, including how environmental and social considerations can be integrated into project governance and decision-making;
  • hybrid project delivery approaches, and where predictive, agile, or adaptive methods fit in construction settings;
  • digital transformation in construction, including AI, data, dashboards, and emerging technologies that support better decision-making;
  • contract management, claims awareness, and commercial risk from a project management perspective;
  • benefits realization and value delivery in construction, beyond simply meeting schedule and budget targets;
  • talent development, leadership, and closing the construction project management skills gap.

If you are interested in volunteering as a speaker, please submit your proposal here or send a short summary of your proposed topic, a brief biography, and any relevant speaking experience to training@pmiswohio.org. Please also include your general availability and whether your presentation is suitable for a broad project management audience, a construction-specific audience, or both. Or if you prefer, fill out the online form here.

We appreciate your support in helping PMISWO Chapter provide timely, relevant, and practical learning opportunities for our members and guests.

Sincerely,

David Beasley, PMP
