/ Agile Starts So Well /

Agile so often begins with a team or two testing the waters. Usually a highly skilled group is picked for the pilot. The group is given a Scrum Master to facilitate the process. Most importantly the Scrum Master removes impediments from the team and protects them from outside interference. All agile frameworks value focus. The Scrum Master is there to make sure they can focus. The team gets strong support to live up to Agile’s core values.

Along with focus teams also commit to delivering fully formed work in short time boxes. A Product Owner is assigned to support fast, cyclical delivery of value. The Product Owner is a unique individual. The Product Owner is empowered to give the requirements on behalf of the organization. The Product Owner decides when the team’s work is done. This often-unprecedented empowerment of the Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Team creates a power trio. The triumvirate often sees productivity increases in excess of 400%.

This is great! Let’s expand. More agile teams form. Then, unfortunately, something untoward happens. The effort to scale up many agile teams often falters. Sometimes agile scaling outright fails. Come to this event to hear how 130 Scrum Teams succeeds!

    / Scaling with Lean /

Project Managers have long known the value of Lean thinking. Lean portfolio management has been a stock-in-trade of the Project Management Professional (PMP) for decades. So, it is no surprise to see Lean thinking applied to agile processes to bring them to enterprise scale. Come to this event to lead your enterprise scaling agile!

/ Scripting The Critical Moves /

Scaled Agile Inc. has embraced Lean-Agility. SAI curates the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). SAFe is freely shared with the world based on a simple core belief: Better software and systems make the world a better place. Since 2011 SAFe has captured more than 25% of the scaled agile market. Fueling this growth, the SAFe Implementation Roadmap is an enabler shared by SAI that has helped 100’s of large enterprises in dozens of industries scale Agile with unprecedented success. Come to this event to hear good practices that allowed 1200 software engineers across the globe launch SAFe together!

    / Non-Obvious Tips and Tricks /

The SAFe implementation Roadmap curated by SAI is on it’s 7th iteration since its 2011 inception.
