FREE Webinar: Agile Étude - Relative Estimating, Isn’t it all Relative?
Agile Études, PMI SWO April Webinar
Each month in 2020 The Project Management Institute of Southwest Ohio (PMI SWO) is hosting a free webinar. This is ‘solidarity series’ for agilest project managers facing the new normal. Each month, a common agile topic will be addressed, and we will delve deeply into possible practices aligned to the mostly universally acknowledged agile principles and values. The sessions are entirely free to the first 500 registrants. Each session is eligible for one self-reported professional development unit (PDU) towards the PMP or PMI-ACP certification in the Technical category.
April Étude: Relative Estimating, Isn’t it all Relative?
A bit of a war rages in the world of Agile. At least it’s a thorny argument about Story Points. What is best? Is it Fibonacci, Power of Two, Tee Shirt Sizes, Gummy Bears, Normalized Story Points, Hours, Ideal Developer Days or something else? Can some estimating pattern that is great in one situation, be very bad in another? When do estimates become a matter of diminishing returns? What is the right precision, tolerance, accuracy to get the job done? What about buffers? Do they exist or are they a total agile antipattern? Andy Burns, PMP, PMI-ACP, DACI, will auger into these topics and field questions for a lively hour, that will likely last at least 50 minutes, no doubt have at least 20 min of great content, and certainly include lots of bad jokes! Laughter is the best teacher. Come and join and get more than just the 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 or Relative Estimating.
