Josh Boatwright: SIT Introduction - Prequel for Summit Registrants
Our Summit 2020 registrants are invited to join in on an exclusive webinar: Josh Boatwright: SIT Introduction (Summit Prequel). After registering for Summit, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.
In preparation for the PMI Summit on November 6th, this webinar provides insight into the history and principles of Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT). While not a prerequisite for the SIT sessions, the 45 to 50-minute presentation will provide a foundation to better understand and more quickly apply the innovation techniques taught during the Summit.
Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) is a method of principles and templates to systematically generate creative ideas connected to something useful. Explained in the book Inside the Box by Drew Boyd and Jacob Goldenberg, SIT is a simple process with broad application and a skill available to anyone. SIT will generate more innovative ideas than you can execute! Each session will introduce all four principles and all five techniques, but a unique principle and technique will be explored with short exercises to aid learning and retention. Sessions are self-contained but complementary to each other: attend all four sessions to get two days of training content in four hours!
Focus | Session 1 | Session 2 | Session 3 | Session 4 |
Principle | Constraint | Fixedness | Closed World | Function Follows Form! |
Template | Subtraction | Division | Multiplication | Task Unification |
