Great Meetings Build Great Teams - A Guide for PMs and Agilists
Meetings are a necessary part of every project manager’s (and agilists’) day. However, as important as these events are (yes, meetings are events!), they are frequently poorly run and leave both meeting leaders and attendees dissatisfied. This can be detrimental to the project because of inherent miscommunication or non-communication, to say nothing of the reputation of the project leader. In this session, attendees will learn the fundamentals of good meeting management starting with having a good agenda to being “large and in charge” to dealing with meeting goblins – those nasty personalities that sometimes emerge during meetings. The increasing role of AI in meeting facilitation will also be discussed. Presenters: Jim Stewart, Richard Maltzman
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the importance of planning for your meetings and your projects – and how this impacts your project team
- Recognize and deal with disruptive meeting behavior and gain tips on how to prevent others from hijacking your meeting.
- Differentiate online meeting facilitation skills from those needed for face-to-face meetings
- Identify ways in which AI can be (and has already been) made part of meeting facilitation
